Wallaby Underarm stitches

I’m making a child’s Wallaby and have nearly finished the first sleeve, up to the underarm. The pattern states as follows:

“K even until sleeve measures (…12”…) or desired length to underarm from beg of work. K one more rnd and place (…8…) underarm sts on a holder or piece of yarn to be woven to body underarm sts later. Put first sleeve on holder. Do second sleeve."

Do the 8 underarm stitches come at the beginning of the next round, at the end of the last round the directions call for or where?

I’d say they’re the first 4 and last 4.

I’m currently knitting my 2nd one. That’s what I do too. 4 from each so that the end to be woven in is kind of hidden.
