I’m ready to cry! I’ve been working on a lace shawl on my Brittany black walnut 10.5s, and took it to school to work on during breaks. While getting my knitting and heavy back back out of the car I managed to break one needle!
I love these needles, and the only pair on eBay was the right size, but was $40+…out of my range right now.:waah:
Awww, that really stinks.
That is really terrible!!! Did you think of trying to use superglue it back together until you can replace them?
$40 for one pair??!
Yikes… That’s a bummer!
Oh man, that stinks! I hope you can find a replacement soon!
I managed to glue one of my Harmony tips back together again well enough that it works as well as it ever did. I used Elmer’s wood glue, let it set and used very fine emery paper to sand the surplus glue and any edge of wood smooth. I didn’t even damage the smooth finish on the wood.
I do have both pieces and will try gluing—black walnut is finegrained enough that the breaks has a dozen tiny “ridges” and “valleys”. Should work Okay.
And Thanks for the sympathy, I needed to vent a bit and having y’all to talk to is awesome.
Oh, NO! I owuld be upset. I’m sure it was a beautiful needle. Vent to us. We’re good for that!
