I just finished a pair of the Yellow Harvest Mittens from the 2008 fall issue of Vogue Knitting Magazine. I used some bulky wool by Brown Sheep Company. There was a chart for the mittens and you were supposed to do all of the chart and then do the top shaping ending with running the tail through 11 stitches like you do for the top of a hat. I did that but it was too long for my liking so I took out the shaping and 5 rows of the chart and started the shaping while working the last 5 rows of the chart and ended with kitchener stitch at the top. These will be really warm.

Really great mittens, Judy! I love them! I remember that issue of Vogue!
Lots of great patterns! I love your choice!
Nice - I could use those today - very chilly in New England and they look super toasty warm!
Oooh, nice warm hands for someone. Great job adapting the pattern!
