Vogue knitting winter 2009/2010-Floral cardigan

I have the yarn for this cardigan but have never done intarsia before. I love Fair Isle, but I’m not lovin’ intarsia. I’m wondering if I have to use separate small butterflies of yarn for the inside of the flowers and maybe do the rest of the flower in Fair Isle, or should the whole flower be in intarsia? Does this make sense? Since the pattern was free, I think I’m OK with attaching one of the graphs. If not, please moderators, delete it at will. I think I’ve bitten off more than I can chew. I’ve done the bottom Fair Isle pattern and part of the lace pattern, and will be starting the intarsia part soon. Please give me some opinions/suggestions.
Thanks.

Oh boy…that’s a complicated one. I think I’d probably do duplicate stitch for the inside of the flowers…

As it is, you’re going to have a lot of yarn hanging off the back. to change colors in the centers of the flowers will make even more of a mess. I’d add the colors later if you really want them.

I think that if you work the flowers in stranded, it will be very thick and you’ll have a lot of long floats.
