This baby sweater is my first project and i have tried to figure out most things by myself, but i need some more help. The pattern started with the back of the sweater and the raglan armhole shaping, and the instructions said to slip these stitches from my size 3 needles to my circular needle to place on hold.First question,do i cut the yarn? How long of a tail? Or do i just use another ball, because the sleeves are next and this is because this will set up position on the circular needle correctly(so says the pattern).I guess what im really trying to understand is how this all will go together. The only yarn store with classes is very far away from me so i have been reading and coming in here which has been a godsend! One more question(as i am reading the pattern ahead),once all these parts are on the circular needle, would it be ok to assume that i will be “joining” on the circular at some point?Whew-sorry so long…
Since it is a cardigan, I doubt you’ll be joining in the round, but rather working back and forth on the circular to accommodate all the stitches. I’m sure that they could have said to put the stitches on a holder, but they’re saving you the step of transferring them.
You probably can cut the yarn since I don’t think you’d start the next section of the sweater from the edge of the back.
