I do this decrease but it doesn’t look good…it looks like little circles…what am I doing wrong?
The PURL side is the RS (will show) done in the round in reverse stockinette stitch. There is a decrease on each side of the sweater:
1.) DLS decrease: Purl 2 sts tog, remove marker, return this st back to LH needle, pass 2nd st on LH needle over dec’d st and off the needle, return dec’d st to RH needle and replace marker.
2.) DRS decrease: Sl 2 sts to RH needle, remove marker, sl 1 st back to LH needle and purl 2 tog, pass 2nd st on RH needle over dec’d st and replace marker.
I think I’m doing these correctly but not sure…is there a YouTube Video or something that can show me if I’m doing these correctly…should I be purling in the back of the stitch? Is there a stitch that can replace these? Thanks
Here’s an alternative double decrease on the purl side. It uses a purl 3 together tbl which you could use on one end of your knitting (see about a third of the way down the page). The purl 3 tog would work on the other end. There’s also a centered double dec which would work on either end.
Thank you for this……!!
