Vintage Doily Pattern Help

I’m wanting to knit a vintage doily. The pattern starts out with casting on 8 stitches and then dividing evenly on 3 DPN. Next it says to knit all stitches. The next round and subsequent rounds where it says “0” are where I’m confused. For example, round 2 says 0, K1 repeat from * around. Then knit all odd rows. Round 4 is 0, K2 repeat from * around.

What does “0” mean? Is it a yarn over, a slipped stitch, or a skipped stitch? I’ve never seen this in a pattern before. It is used throughout the pattern.

Thank you!

What pattern are you using? If it’s a circle then I would say O (letter O, not zero) means yo. The next increase round would be O, k3. Is it?

Here’s a picture of the first part of the pattern.

Thanks.

I’d go with O=yo unless after working for enough rounds to see the pattern develop it’s obviously wrong. I think you’ll see that the yo increases are what creates the design.

Thank you! I’ll give it a try with YO and see if it works out correctly.
