Video's on this site?

I love the videos on this site but i can’t get them to work anymore. Keeping in mind that i am computer challenged can anyone help?

What happens when you click on them?

It looks like it is loading and then when the little triangle comes up and it says play i click on it and it looks like it’s starting to load again. It just keeps doing it over and over again.

hmmm. let’s see. do you have shockwave or something that is possibly needed to play the vids?

I recommend clearing your cookies and temporary internet files. That is the problem 90% of the time something doesn’t work. In Internet Explorer go to Tools > Internet Options. Depending on your version of explorer, there will be a button that says “Delete Cookies” and another for “Delete Temporary Internet Files” or a single “Delete” button under the heading Browsing History.

If you are using Firefox, go to Tools > Clear Private Data. Select everything, except saved passwords (if you have saved passwords this will erase them, if not you can select that too) then click “Clear Private Data Now.”

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks foryour help everyone but it didn’t work-banrion the cookies thing. I did what you said and it didn’t seem to make much of a diff. It just acts like everything i do i’m making it re-load. I was able to watch them before the site changed it’s looks. I’m sad i really like them. I can watch videos everywhere else.

It’s most likely a firewall issues. Our video player requires port 8080 to be open on your firewall. This is a fairly common alternative web port, but even still some firewalls are strict and will block. You can test it by disabling your firewall and then try viewing the videos. If they work with the firewall disabled, then your firewall is the culprit.

This week (hopefully!) we are going to be rolling out an update to our KH video player which will forgo the need for visitors to have port 8080 open on their firewalls. This should remedy the videos playing issues some people have been experiencing. So far, the reports of issues are small and most of them seem to be due to port 8080 being blocked, so we are hoping to alleviate that requirement.

In the meantime, I have a page herewith some information on the requirements for viewing the videos. It might provide some helpful tips.

Holy cow. Thanks for the info. A little over my head so i’ll just wait it out and see if it fixes itself after you do …whatever it is that you just said you were going to do. THanks!

You also might need to update your verison of Windows Media or Flash or whatever program you’re using.
