i love your helpful videos and they have gotten me out of many a quandry 
would you consider doing a video of how to decrease in a set pattern like moss, seed, or k2p2 stitch without losing the integrity of the pattern? i have had many helpful people explain how to do this but i definitely need a visual in this case…

I think this is one of those cases, where there are so many different kinds of decreases, and patterns, that I’m not sure if I could do a single video that would make it clear for this general topic. I think it could just confuse things! Because the way you change your pattern would totally depend on the pattern and the decrease you’re using!
Sorry I can’t help in this case. I’d say this is just one of those tricky things that you come to figure out; you need to put your math-knitting brain to the test, in each instance, just like you do with using a pattern over any object that has increases or decreases. It’s not easy! Sorry I can’t make it easier! If you have a specific example you’re stuck on, I think the forum is your best bet!

I’m knitting Victoria by Lori Versaci and I’m having BIG difficulty in decreasing. I need words telling me what to do with each of the first stitches in the decrease rows, starting at Row 1. I’ve completed the BO for the armhole shaping and have ripped out the decrease rows about 20 times.
Please, someone, help me out.
Here are the moss stitch instructions:
Moss Stitch
(Worked over an odd number of sts):
Row 1 RS: P2, (k1, p1) to last st, p1.
Row 2 WS: K2, (p1, k1) to last st, k1.
Row 3 RS: P1, k1 to last st, p1.
Row 4 WS: K1, p1 to last st, k1.
Repeat Rows 1-4 for Moss Stitch.
w2tog (work 2 together in pattern): If the second st on the left needle is a k st, work k2tog. If it is a p st, work p2tog.
w2tog tbl (work 2 together in pattern through back loops): If the next st on the left needle is a k st, work ssk. If it is a p st, work p2tog tbl.
Decrease Row RS: P1, w2tog, work in pattern to last 3 sts, w2tog tbl, p1.
Work 1 row in pattern.
Repeat these 2 rows 4 times more. 5963, 67, 73, 79, 87, 91, 97, 105 sts.
Work 2 tog is knit or purl 2 tog, however the sts happen to be. If the 2nd st on the L needle is a knit st, you would k2tog. If the 2nd st is a purl, you purl 2 tog. Same thing for the tbl decs - ssk and p2togtbl; if the next st (not the 2nd one, just the next one) is a knit then do ssk, and if it’s a p then do p2togtbl.
