I’m doing the decreases on the back of Mom’s vest and it says to work even until armhole measures 9.5", so obviously that means start measuring where the armhole decreases began and do I curve my tape measure with it, or just measure a straight line? I’m guessing to curve it, but want to do it right. I’ve never made anything like this before; maybe that’s why it’s taking me over a year to make the back
Measure a straight line. Hold something straight across the back from the decrease and then measure up to the needle.
glad I asked, I’d have done it wrong. Thanks!
What I do is run a lifeline on the first decrease row. Then when I measure I measure in a straight line using the life line as a base line to measure from.
i would’ve done it wrong too.
good idea, thanks.
