For shaping an armhole the directions say, “Dec 1 st at armhole edge on next 5 rows, then on foll alternate row 4 times.” Does this mean to Dec 1 st at the beginning of the row and then at the end of the next row since that is the armhole edge? And then Dec another stitch at the beginning of the next row so you have two Decreased sts. right together? If it said alternate rows, I wouldn’t be so confused when it says “next 5 rows” or am I reading this wrong?
I’d do it for 5 rows in a row, like you said–on both the beginning and end. k,p,k,p,k
Then do the dec on the alternate rows–the knit side.
Thanks for the info Ingrid. I will try that.
