Wanted to share my latest FO. You can get the pattern here.
This was knit for my niece for Christmas.
Start: 10/2009
Finished: 11/27/2009
Yarn: “Fantasy” by Dark Horse Yarns(wanted something machine wash and dry) Color #32 4 skeins What you see in the picture is all 4 skeins used with the dress and purse.
Needles: US6 circular (multiple lengths) and straights
Modifications: The pattern was reworked to fit a size 7. Two inches was added to length at the request of the mother. The length was mixed in with the decreases to achieve an even increase in length. There was no “finishing” on the armholes in the pattern, so I added a slip stitch edging while it was worked for a smoother more comfortable wear.
Comments: I liked this knit…aside from the miles of stockinette of course(yawn)…the cast on is VERY time consuming as she suggests but is well worth it. A definate bonus is that its knit in the round! I had some leftover yarn so I made her a small matching drawstring purse to go with it. Overall, this was an easy project and I recommend it to anyone who has a little girl to knit for.
My husbands comment…“It’s definitely girly” lol
Kudos to the designer, Alana Dakos, for the well written pattern, and “Very Cherry” dress!!
