Vertical Stripped Scarf

Hi, I’m a beginner knitter and so far have only done one color scarfs. I’d like to do vertical stripped scarf using two colors. I’m not sure how to do that. Can someone help with instructions?
Thanks,
newbie

The very easiest way to make a vertical striped scarf is to knit it lengthwise. Get a long circular needle and cast on as many stitches as you want the length of the scarf to be. So if you’re using yarn that gives you 4 stitches per inch, multiply that by the number of inches you want your scarf to be.

Then knit in one color for as wide as you want the stripe to be, change colors and knit the next stripe.

If you want to knit it the ‘normal’ way, you’ll have to do intarsia, which will require you to have a different strand for each color.
