V-neck cardigan question

When knitting a front band on a v-neck cardigan, do you have to do any type of increases when you get to the point where the v-neck begins and ends? I did some searching on the internet and found something about it, but it was not that clear. Thanks.

Yes, you often see increases at the place where the band changes from straight up to the slant of the V. The increases keep the front band from flipping and help it to lie flat.
