Using Two Circulars To Knit Socks

Haven’t posted in ages … couldn’t even remember my password … I was away in Newfoundland for a few weeks …

While away my girlfriend who I stayed with (who I got started back into knitting after some years of hiatus) showed me how to cast on sock stitches to DPN’s … I attempted to knit on them with little luck :??.. so little that they are still sitting there on the needles in the bag … While there, we found a lovely yarn shop (www.wooltrends.ca) and I bought two pair of Bryspun 5" DPN’s, sets of four, hoping maybe the shorter needles would be less life threatening :oo: …

When into my LYS the other day, the lady showed me how she knits socks on two pair of circulars … I love circulars and think I could probably manage this easier … I did find one tutorial on the net
http://www.az.com/~andrade/knit/twocirculars.html … does anyone know of a book that might have instruction in it or any other tutorials? This lady was giving a class on how to make fingerless gloves on the two circulars, however she said we had to buy the two needles which had to be Addis and the yarn from their shop … it’s only a two class one and I didn’t feel $100 was worth it when I could probably learn just as easily from having someone show me, or finding something on the net … besides I’m not into fingerless gloves … I just want to learn how to knit socks!!!

By the way I like the new forum format!!

Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles might be a great book to invest in - it is a “how too” and a pattern book. I also believe that the Sensational Knitted Sock books (2 of them) cover this technique.

I hope you can learn the technique without having to spend the $100!

Here is a 2-circ sock pattern that I find very easy to follow:

I have made 2 pairs!
