Using much lighter yarn for a pattern

I’m going to make the Ballerina Sweater from Fitted Knits, but I want to make it with a fingering weight yarn (Patons Lacette) instead of the bulky yarn called for (Lion Brand Landscapes). I plan on using the same gauge for a light, lacy look. I did my gauge swatch and the resulting fabric seems pretty stretchy. Should I make the sweater with negative ease? I’m afraid if I make it to my normal measurements that it will stretch and be too big.
TIA

That is a huge difference in gauge! Won’t you have to rework the whole pattern? I guess if you want to try it and you think it’s too stretchy you could go down a needle size.

Actually I’m able to get the same gauge, it’s just an entirely different look.
