I love the top grey wool
do you know the approx swatch size.
Iam looking for something that knits 5.5 sts/8 rows per inch on a 3mm-4mm needle.
Would the grey work for that, or possibly the bronze.
I would need approx 1700 yards.

Dear Laura,

The Grey yarn is probably too chunky for your project. The wool blend in bronze is a great alternative. It’s very nice and soft. I’ve only one lb left and the actual yardage is unknown but I think it is about 5600-6000 yard or more. To meet your gauge, you need about 3 strands. Hope that helps.

Ok, I am a total kumquat here, so bear with me…what is the rough yardage on say, the pink mohair one or the burgundy mohair one? I am not holding you to it, just looking for a ballpark idea.

Dear Kitkat,

The pink skein is actually a soft wool blend. I have two 8oz skein and one 7oz skein left. Would estimate the yardage to be around 5600-6000ypp.

The burgundy (maroon) skein is the wool mohair blend, there is no info about the actual percentage, but it feels like a 80-90% of wool with some mohair. I have three 7oz skeins and would estimate the yardage to be around 1800-2200ypp.

How soft is the natural color wool? Appropriate for a sweater or is it rougher than that?

Reply to kitkat: I’m not quite sure about this pink one. But if you can brief me on know-how, maybe I can do a felting test for you.

Reply to Carol_OH: The 100% Wool in Gray, Red or the Natural color will knit up to 4st per inch. You can also use a double strand of the Wool Mohair blend.

Reply to Kemp: The natural color wool is not a very soft wool, I will not use it for a next-to-skin sweater but a friend of mine knitted up a vest after we dyed this wool in koolaid and it turned out great.
