Hello. I have been working on a pattern that includes German short rows. I get the German short rows-they are pretty straightforward. But if I make a mistake, I am struggling to undo the German short row. Very Pink Knits has a video about tinking German short rows. I have been watching it over and over and trying to do it on a practice swatch, but my brain just cannot absorb what she is doing. Does anyone know of another source for learning this? Thanks!
Undoing German Short Rows
Are you only watching the last part of the video, from about the 4:45min? On the knit row, just slip the stitch over to the left needle and move the yarn strand to the back then turn. On purl rows, just slip the yarn out of the double stitch and then turn.
It might make it easier to recognize the double stitch if you place a marker on the stitch before tinking. Somehow it seems easier to me to recognize at that point than when you’re in the process of tinking
Thanks! Sometimes I just need to see it in writing before it clicks.
