Understanding pattern

Hello everyone. I’m new to this forum. Signed up so I can understand some knitting lingo. I’m a knitting by myself for the first time and am having trouble understanding the instructions. So please kindly help me figure it out. Thanking you in advance

Here are the instructions for the BACK of the cardigan
Work straight in garter stitch till it measures 15cm.
Dec 1st at each end of next row
Work straight in garter st until work measures 26 cm.

Does this mean I’m supposed to decrease one stitch at each end of just one row? Or am I supposed to keep decreasing stitches at every row ?

By just looking at the text I would interpret it as a one time decrease rather than a repeated decrease. Does the pattern have any picture from where the back is visible? If I were to knit something I am unsure of I would try to look at the pictures to see signs of what I think is the right interpretation.

Thank you for your reply. So I decreased one time and now I continue the garter stitch right? This is the pattern. It shows only the front. Sadly

By looking at that picture, it does not look like there would have been more than once a decrease.

OK thank you so much for your help.
