I am in the process of knitting some dungarees for my grandson. Newborn size. However I have got to a part that makes no sense!!
So here it is…

Next row (rs) K18, P4, cast off 12 purlwise (1st left on RH needle), p3
K10 SM work panel pattern (that bit I get!!) P4 cast off 12 purlwise (1 st left on RH needle) p3 I to end
Please can someone explain the casting off part?? How do I end up with 1 st on a needle???

When you cast off 12sts you have to Purl 13sts this leaves a P1 stitch on the RH needle, by adding P3 you will have P4 RH needle to match the P4 you had before the cast off is worked.
