Understanding Pattern...Help, please!

Hello all!

Help please! I’m a very new knitter and have what i thought was a pretty easy knitting pattern, but got confused by something early on. Pattern says: Cast on 37 stchs. done. Rows 1-6, K1 P1 across row. done. Row 7 and 8 K1, P1 for 5 stchs, p3 4x; k1 p1 for 5 stchs. done. Now here’s where I got confused: Row 9 (right side) K1, p1, k1, p2;k4, (p1, k1, p1 k5)x2; p1, k1, p1,k4…at this point i have ended the row, yet the pattern goes on - p2, k1,p1, k1…??? from what I’m looking at there are no more stitches to be made after K4 and I am ready to turn my needle arnd to begin row 10. Are those last stiches part of row 10? What have I don’e wrong? Any help, much appreciated!

By my count on row 9 you should have the correct amount of stitches. You would K1, p1, k1, p2, k4, then p1, k1, p1, k5, p1, k1, p1, k5 again, then p1, k1, p1, k4, p2, k1, p1, k1, which adds up to 37 stitches.
