understanding my pattern

Hi I’m having a moment and don’t understand the following instruction:
the pattern says to inc 1 st at each end of the 3rd row, So I have that covered, then it says , and every foll 6th row until 49 sts. so my question is, is the 6th row included in the 3 or do i count 6 rows from the 3rd row?

You’d count six rows from the third row. So increases would happen on Row 3, Row 9, Row 15, etc.
