Understanding Instructions

I am knitting a dish cloth. The instructions say:

(K, P, K) ALL in next st.

I cannot figure out how to do this.

That means that without taking the stitch off the needle, knit, then purl, then knit, then take the stitch off the needle. It increases the stitch count by two.

It means to slip the stitch from your left needle to the right needle.

I think generally if it doesn’t specify, you should slip it purlwise (hopefully someone can verify that for me). That means you inser the needle as if you were going to purl the stitch, but instead of purling you just slip it off onto the other needle.

HTH!
