Understanding how pattern reads

Hi, I am a newbie here and also new to knitting. I do not understand if the pattern is asking me to increase on the one row until I have 50 stitches or over the whole knot and purl rows

That increase row is adding just one stitch to the row. Often when there is a stitch number in the end of the row it means the total amount of stitches after increases or decreases. As you got the whole pattern, see if it makes sense!

Welcome to the forum!

This pattern?

There’s also a step-by-step video for knitting this pattern (see 12:00 minutes).
It shows just what engblom is posting about the increase.

Hi, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Vicki

I cannot get in to the forum for some reason so u sure how to thank the other person who replied .

Thank you , in my excitement I forgot there was a video showing everything( I did read that ) I have worked out that I also thought the pattern said 43 stitches and it is actually 49 , that explains why I could not understand oops! Thank you for your help.
