I have pattern that says to knit *2 rows and ending after knitting 30 rows from the *2 ,would that be 32 rows or 28 rows?

Can you write this out as it is written? That would be most helpful. 
*work 2 rows
next row work intarsia from the chart(i duplicate)
continue in pattern as set above until you have worked 30 rows from *
That’s 30 rows altogether.
