Hi I’m am knitting a pattern and have come across part of the pattern that I don’t understand
Hello and welcome. This is the right place to get help.
Can you type out or post a picture of the portion of the pattern you need help with.
Also, they like to know what pattern you are using so they can look it up and know what it should look like.
It’s a ‘West Yorkshire Spinners’ fairytale pattern
I am struggling to understand the ‘sleeves’
I am knitting the third size & the difficult part in the patterns reads as follows:
Beg with K row & working in st st throughout, inc 1 st at each end of 3rd and
0[0:5:8::1:5:5]foll 0 [0:RS:4th:RS:4th:4th] row, then on every foll RS [RS:4th: 6th:4th:6th:6th] row to 45[55:57:57:63:63:67:] sts
can anyone help me understand this pattern?
Hello again, I unfortunately cannot help with this but there are experienced knitters on this forum who can.
Welcome to KnittingHelp!
For the 3rd size the row reads:
Beg with K row & working in st st throughout, inc 1 st at each end of 3rd and
5 foll RS rows, then on every foll 4th row to 57sts
If the next row is row 1 (a RS row) then increase at each end of rows 3, 5,7,9,11,13 and then rows 17,21,25 and 29. That should take you to 57sts.
Darling pattern with such lovely lace.
Thank you so much for your help, I now understand where I went wrong
Could anyone help me understand the sleeves on this pattern, size 1 please
Very cute cardi! I’ve queued it up for the next baby from family and friends.
For the first size?
You’re going from 29sts to 45 sts and increasing at each end of the row. Increase on row 3,5,7,9,11,13,15 and 17.
Whenever there is a 0 or x or - for your size skip over that direction and move on to the next step.
Thank you for your help
