Unclear on decrease instruction

My cardigan has the following instruction for decreases:
Decrease every fourth RS row/ every 8th row 14 more times, the in the third RS row/ 6th row once, ending after WS row.
I’m confused by this, please help clarify.

Welcome to KnittingHelp!
What is the name of your pattern and the designer?
Is your pattern written for different sizes? Could the decreases relate to those sizes?
Alternatively, the decreases may be alternating every 4th RS row with every 8th RS row for 14 times followed by decreases on the 3rd RS row then 6th RS row.

Thank you for your response.
The designer is Emily Walton of Expression Fiber Arts, and the pattern is McFadden Cardigan.
I am knitting the medium and that instruction is specifically for the medium size.

Ah, the designer has worked out the decreases and is explaining them so neither of my initial thoughts was correct. She is telling you that every 4th RS row is every 8th row overall and every 3rd RS row is every 6th row overall. (Sorry for the confusion but a light bulb just went off.)

So the decreases are on rows 8, 16,24,32,40,48,56,64,72,80,88,96,104 and 112 (that’s every 8th row x 14). Then decrease on row 118 (that’s the 6th following row x1).

Lovely cardigan with gorgeous cable work.

I don’t want to cause confusion here so first of all I apologise if I do.

Every 4th RS row IS the 8th row.
I read the instruction as dec every 8th row, 14 more times
Rows 8 16 24 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80, 88, 96, 104, 112

Then

Then in the 6th following row once
Row 118

Oh I posted at the same time as you salmonmac

Yes, exactly. I thought at first: wow, this cardigan is going to be so long it’ll drag on the ground. There must be something wrong.
And then I reread the directions more carefully.

Thank you very much. I love this sweater and pattern.

Please post a photo when you finish. We love to see finished projects and this one is special.

I will do that. Thank you so much for your help. I am having difficulty understanding the explanation of what the designer was explaining and really appreciate your breaking it down. Have a great weekend.
