Two scarves, one garter stitch and a WIP Irish Hiking Scarf

Now that I know how to post images, I’m going haynuts wanting to show my stuff…lol.

The first scarf here is the second thing I ever attempted. It is a very basic scarf (nothing more than a rectangle) in garter stitch (started before I knew how to purl). It’s done in Debbie Bliss cashmerino chunky, colors 17011 and 17012. The yarn is SO soft. The scarf feels great! I work on it occasionally when I want a change of pace. Thus far, I’ve got a green stripe, a blue stripe, another green stripe and about 3 inches shy of another blue stripe. Each stripe is 13 inches, so I’m up to about 50 inches and I’m trying to decide whether or not I should add another green stripe to finish the whole thing off. That would make the entire scarf about 65 inches and it’s about 9 inches wide. Suggestions?

The second scarf is the beginnings of the Irish Hiking Scarf and my first attempt at doing cables. I’ve found it very easy so far and am really liking the result.

You’ve got excellent taste in yarn, I must say! Your stitches are beautifully even! The hiking scarf is looking beautiful, too. Keep up the good work!

DITTO on everything Ingrid said.
You’re getting off the one heck of a good start. :cheering:

Both scarves look great!

I’d end the stripey one with one more block of green, that way it will be the same on both ends.

Both of those scarves are LOVELY!!

I love the colors too!

They look great. The striped one looks soo soft, I just wanna squish it!

Great job!!!

Those are all going to be beautiful scarves! Way to go!

You are a natural! :cheering:
