Twist 2x2 ?-Oh Ingrid?

Ingrid,

Hi! I’m starting yet another bootee pattern, what can I say I’m addicted to small projects.

Ok, so heres the question what does (twist 2x2) mean?
Here it is in the pattern.

“Row 9: twist row - p3, (twist 2 x 2) p3 (cable 3 & 3) p3, (twist 2 x 2), p2, k1, yo, k1.”

Heres the pattern if I didnt give enough info.

Thanks, Candace

A twist is a cable but you don’t knit all of the stitches, some are purled. It’s a way to make a cable ‘travel’ without having the cables that just twist if that makes sense. Since the pattern calls for holding the cables and twists in front, I think these directions are the way you should go. You’ll be able to tell in short order if they’re correct. I hope.

slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at front of work, purl next 2 sts from left-hand needle, then knit sts from cable needle.

They sound cute, I want to see a picture when they’re done!

Ingrid, I think I get it. Will it look like a snake? Instead of two cables intertwined?

Gardenmommy, I will show pics if I figure this all out! heh. I’ve been practicing my cables tonight. Now I gotta practice this twist. Once I get the twist, I will start it.

practice:XX:practice:XX:practice I practice more now then when I was a brand new knitter.

You’ve got the twist and the cable, so you’ll have both. You’ll have to post a picture when you’re done!
