Turning

Okay I am so confused as to what Turn means, I need help with this. I am knitting a bath mitt and it says k 29 TURN.( Now keep in mind I have 48 stitches on the needle),now it says cast on 1st no prob, then k 14 including st on needle after cast on? then TURN and continue. Does turning mean that you knit 29 then take the right hand needle and put it in your left and vice versa which would give you the working yarn now on the left?
I know this might sound like a stupid question but I just can’t get it.
thanks

Do you have a pattern link?

It sounds like you might be doing short rows? They can turn in the middle of your work…

‘Turning’ is a common question.

Are you perhaps doing the S&C ballband mitt? Whether or not, it’s fairly common to arrive at the point of the thumb and to work one side of the mitt before the other. So, yes, you’ll do as you thought. Once at the turning point switch hands and continue on that portion of the piece. Most likely you’ll eventually rejoin the yarn and work the other half of the sts doing the same process.
