I purchased the yarn and the book NR8305 to knit the cardigan 8305-5. It calls for a Tuck Rib Pattern and the directions (chart)are not helpful. Can someone help me please? mastrohome@yahoo.com
If you can post a few rows of the pattern (not the whole thing) that could help us. It should give some explanations of how to do the tuck rib somewhere in the notes.
The pattern is in a chart but I have written down.
starting with 6 stitches
Row 1
RS p3 k1 With yarn on WS slip st p-wise, yo (over top of needle and back to WS) k1
Row 2
WS p1 k2 p1 Bring yarn to RS, slip st p-wise, bring yarn over needle to k next st p st
Row 3
p3 k1 With yarn on WS slip st p-wise, yo ( over top of needle and black of WS) k1
row 4
k1 p2 k1 K st and all yo’s tog, pulling yarn to tighten st
if this is not clear I will be glad to actually scan the chart and send it to you. thank you for your help
What part don’t you understand? Take each st one by one, so on R 1 which is the RS -
p3 k1, move yarn to back and slip 1 st as if to purl, yo (over top of needle and back to WS) k1.
R 2 - p1 k2 p1, move yarn to back of work, slip 1 st as if to purl, take yarn over needle to k next st, p 1
R 3 - same as R 1
It may be that row 4 is what you don’t understand -
k1, p2, k1, K st and all yo’s tog, - I don’t know if the highlighted part should be ‘knit that st and all YOs tog’ but I think all the YOs from the previous rows are lined up and you would knit them all together with the next st so they will look bunched up. Does that look like the picture?
I got the designer to send a better discription of the stitch thank you to everyone who tried to help me
