Trying to turn heel on bootie - think there is instruction errors -help please

This is my first attempt at a baby sock and on heel turn the instructions don’t make any sense to me. I’m going into the heel turn with 10 stitches.

Row 1: K7, ssk, Turn (what happened to 10th st?)
Row 2: Slip 1, P4, P2tog, turn (Another stitch disappeared)
Row 3: Slip 1, K4, ssk
Row 4: Slip 1, P4, P2tog - 6 sts

If my math is right, after row 2, there are only 6 sts on the needle so I can’t make any reductions on row 3 or 4 and still have 6 sts.

I am lost!!! I tried to figure ways to correct this without success.
Hope someone out there can help me understand this.

The pattern is correct. Those sts aren’t lost, they’ll be worked when you get to the ssk in row 3 and the p2tog in row 4.
This is a mini-version of a short row heel. Leave the unworked stitch on the left hand needle and turn where indicated.

Thank you so much. The instructions didn’t mention the extra stitch carryover, but it worked out great. Finished up the set last night.
