Trying to Post an Avatar

Hey Everyone,

Can someone help me- I have reduced a photo for my avatar on Photoshop down to 9kb and 50 pixels by height and width. How come it is still telling me it needs to be less than 12kb? :wall:
What is the easiest way to do this?

Why don’t you try running it through photobucket. If you don’t have an account, it’s free to create one. When you upload pictures, there’s an option for sizing, and avatar is one of the options.

Then you can resave the image to your hard drive and post it from there.

I usually keep cutting them down until they fit.

I was directed to this site http://www.shrinkpictures.com/ . The site is excellent and it also has an avator resizer.

what kind of filetype are you trying to use? i think it has to be either .jpg or .gif but I could be wrong.

where is the list of names thats shows directly under your user name. They are usually grouped by how many posts you have done.

Picnik.com is also a good site. You can resize, adjust colors, etc. Basic photo editing, in other words…
