Travelling Woman Question Again!

So I was really doing well with the lace. I started on the second repeat of chart A and found that I am missing two st and 3/4 of the way through the first row of the repeat. I am praying it is in the last row of chart A!

How do I find the mistake in all that lace? I took out my lifeline and readjusted it when I was sure I was correct after the first set of repeats.

Did anyone happen to label their rows with number of st? Would it be helpful to figure number of st in each row as you go?

I was up til 1am trying to figure it out!:sleepy:

It’s usually easier to put markers between the stitch repeats - I believe that’s 14 sts for this one. Then you only need to count between markers.

What helps is to look at the previous RS row and name the sts rather than count them, so you’d begin at the edge sts then R 3 for example would be - 2 knits, over, k, over, 4 knits, dec, 4 knits, over, k, p, k, over, 4 knits, dec… etc. That way you can tell if you forgot to pass the slip st over the k2tog in the dec, or forgot to do a YO or made one too many.

I would do (and actually did do) exactly what Sue suggested!

I’ll try that. I won’t be able to get to it until Sheridan, my 4 year old, is in bed, though. I won’t be able to concentrate on anything until then.:knitting:

I found it. I took out the last WS row and found it in the RS row. I omitted a YO in two different spots. Thanks, Suzee and Evan!

Woot!!! :oD I remember forgetting tons of YOs in my first lace… I forget who it was, but someone here gave me a creative solution to making them up on the purl row (should you happen to notice)

Oh, Evan! That is brilliant. I will have to do that the next time I forget a YO. Many, many thanks.

my question is…do you do YO then the Purl stitch…

Yes, generally you would purl into the YOs if the row is also purl. For this pattern do the same. The sts you knit on the WS row were the ones that were purled on the RS row and are not the YOs.
