I want to knit a vest in traveling vine pattern, which I have done before. However, the pattern is written line-by-line and is (was!) almost impossible to follow. Does anyone have a chart for traveling vine that actually WORKS? I’ve tried a couple and none come out right.

If you take it row by row, the written directions shouldn’t be so impossible to follow. Why don’t you give it another try and when you hit a problem, post here again and ask for help. Someone will be able to offer assistance, I’m sure.
Try it with something small, like this dishcloth. there won’t be so much frogging if you need to tink back a row or even start over.
You can make your own chart, or write each row on a separate index card so you won’t get lost in the text of it all together.
