TOTALLY confused!

Hi
I am trying to take my knitting to a new level and knit a Rikke tank top.
I have the body completed on my circular needles. Now I’m stuck at moving forward with the process of creating armholes. To begin with knitting second panel 1st - the instruction reads to slip 3 sts from left to right needle and join yarn. How do I join yarn that is in the back of the 3 slipped stitches? Please help !!!
Thank you!!!

What is the name of your pattern and designer?
Sounds like you need to cut the yarn leaving about a 6 inch tail to weave in later. Reattach a new yarn end again leaving about a 6inch tail and continue with the directions.

Maybe this pattern?

I appreciate you responding to me.
I understand if I cut the yarn on the right needle to weave it in later, but I need to start knitting Left panel where I had the stitches that were slipped to the right needle.

How do I join when the yarn is right of the 3 slip stitches?

Thank you!

Carrie

You would join the yarn by holding the yarn strand in your left hand alongside the needle and knitting the first few stitches. After that you can drop the yarn tail (it’ll be woven in later) and continue knitting per the instructions.
Here’s a variation on that method:
