I am hoping someone can make this easier to understand. The front has been knitted on ordinary needles. The back and top of sleeves on circular needle. Joining Back & Front. Sl last 5 sts [the sts away from the working yarn ] of back onto left needle .Hold front sts so that the 1st 5 sts align with the5 sleeve edge sts just slipped. Holding front sts in front k together 5sts from front with the 5sts from sleeve. K to last 5 sts of front then holding front edge sts in front k these together with the 5 edge sts from next sleeve

You’re going to be overlapping the front and sleeve to join them. The way to work this overlap of 5sts each is to knit the sts together in pairs. Stitch 5 of the front is knit together with stitch 1 of the sleeve, stitch 4 of the front with stitch 2 of the sleeve, stitch 3 of the front with stitch 3 of the sleeve and so on.
