I am just finishing a hat, and I have pulled through the tail through the remaining stitches and then woven it through the loops on the inside, but I am worried about cutting it. I have never done a bottom up hat before, and what if the remaining yarn comes undone during washing because there is no knot securing it? I worry abut this kind of stuff…
Top of Hat
I usually pull the yarn tail through the remaining loops, tie a knot and then weave in the end. It makes sure that the gathered sts at the top of the hat stay tightly closed but also insures that they won’t unravel.
Thanks so much, I will do that
