Top-down sweater - adding pattern

Can anyone offer some advice?

I wanted to try to add a pattern to a top-down cardigan, but I’m not really sure how to go about it. I cannot seem to figure out how to incorporate a pattern to a raglan. Would it be easier to add a pattern if I started from the bottom?

Thanks in advance

What sort of pattern did you have in mind?

I was thinking of something like falling leaves, but will try anything to get away from the plain “ole” raglan.

As long as the other color(s) use the same weight yarn and you’re not doing any cables the added pattern shouldn’t affect the stitch count so I’d suggest finding the pattern you want to incorporate, figure out where you want to place it in the sweater, and substitute the pattern stitches and color(s) where needed.

You’ll just need to do a little planning in advance so you know where you want to insert the pattern.

Makes sense. I just pulled out some “cheapy” yarn. I’ll give a whirl and see how it turns out.

Look forward to seeing the results.
