Top 10 ways to hide your stash!

I was reading a knitting book the other day and I came across something that I just had to share! I found it quite amusing and thought all of you here would appreciate it! :rofling:

TOP 10 WAYS TO HIDE YOUR STASH
  1. Tape a bag of yarn to the underside of all the chairs… who’ll know???
    2. Put a slipcover over a bag of yarn, stick it on the couch. Call it a pillow.
  2. Remove the cushions of the couch, stuff with yarn instead.
  3. There are narrow books that don’t reach all the way to the back of the bookshelf. That dead space behind such books is good for several skeins.
  4. Do you wear ALL your shoes at the same time? No. Stick a skein of yarn in each unworn shoe (boots are great for this very reason).
  5. Everyone has clothes in the closet that are never, ever worn. Sew up the bottoms of the garments, insert yarn. Do not forget to sew up the bottoms of the sleeves. There’s enough in each sleeve for more than a bag’s worth.
  6. Never cook, only order take-out or go to restaurants. You’ve now got the whole oven!!
  7. Look to the china cabinet. That large soup tureen? Maybe a bag. Large teapot? A few balls. Covered dish? The same.
  8. The freezer is advantageous for fuzzies such as angora or mohair. Make sure to place in plastic freezer bag first. This is known as the high-fiber diet!
  9. Get a really large box and fill it up with lots and lots of yarn. Put a tablecloth over it. Viola! Instant table (but you can’t get your feet underneath it).

:roflhard: And how many have you done?

 Iam guilty of the couch one, we had a sofa bed that no one ever used, I stuffed it full of yarn :), I also use those underbed bins for yarn.

LOL, that’s too funny!!!
I must confess, I have absolutely no need to hide yarn. I’m very lucky in that my husband buys almost as much yarn for me as I do :muah:
I was unable to go to the yarn shop, so my honey got this yummy blue sky cotton for me yesterday!
And, he surprised me with this yarn last week

One of the funniest ones I’ve read originated around here, I think. If you feel the need to smuggle large amounts of yarn into the house, or hide it in the house, put it in a large Kotex box. He’s not going to look in there! :rofling:

They all sounds like good ideas except for #5. I’ll have to move the yarns to different shoe several times a week.

Rebecca: you are one lucky woman ! I love the yarns in the photo…

:roflhard: Too funny!

And Rebecca – you are so lucky your dh likes to spoil you with yarn! What a guy!!

That’s too funny…I remember reading that, but I forget who posted it originally…sounds like KK or hilde to me :roflhard: :rofling:

Thanks, ya’ll…I happily admit that I have the best husband in the world…in many, many ways…one of them happens to be that he spoils me rotten :blooby:  :blooby:

Kotex Box! That’s indeed brilliant!
:roflhard: :roflhard:

:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:

:roflhard: I’m not fully utilizing the resources I have to hide yarn!

I’m guilty of # 10

Becka, sounds like our husbands are from the same mold.

A relative once told my husband “You SPOIL her ROTTEN!”

He said “Yeah, I like her that way!”

Mama Bear

I just keep mine in the guestroom closet, DH never goes in there and the guests usually don’t have “hang-up” style clothes when they come here (we’re more of a jeans and boots or ski wear destination.) But DH is so great: I went to the big annual craft fair in our nearby town and just happened to stop in the yarn shop while I was there. I managed to spend over $200 on a splurge purchase which they very kindly wound up for me, including two ginormous balls of mohair. THEN I realized I had left “my” credit card next to the computer (where of course I had used it to purchase some stuff from Knit Picks.) Well, I could hardly NOT buy it after they wound it all up for me, could I? I had to come home and confess to my splurge being charged to our regular credit card. DH just chuckled.
