I’m trying my hand at toe up socks for the very first time and I think I’m dumb.
I’m following Wendy’s tutorial with pics up at Knitty and ut says:

One side of it will be smooth and look like a row of little “vees.” The other side will have a bump in the center of each vee. Using your sock yarn and 2 dpns, knit 1 stitch into the bump in the center of each little vee on the back side of the chain until you have 24 stitches.
[/COLOR][/SIZE][/FONT][/I][FONT=Verdana, Trebuchet MS, Arial][SIZE=-1][COLOR=#333333]Why would I need 2 dpns if I’m picking up stitches from the crochet chain? That is what I’m doing right? Or am I doing something wrong?
