Anyone know where I can find a good (and hopefully simple) pattern for toe socks? I’ve bought a few pair and adore them, so I’d love to make some.

Here’s a couple to get you started:
Http://www.elann.com [b]Sock it to me toe-up
http://www.hellchick.net Toe-up socks
http://www.wiseneedle.com Simple Toe up socks in four sizes
Elfine’s socks by Anna Bell
If you have never done the toe up, do some research on best short row technique. I had trouble with the short/long row developing holes. I’m sure that with the right technique & expereince the heel will come out fine.
I used the turkish cast on http://fluffyknitterdeb.blogspot.com A little awkward at first but with a little practive it creates a beautiful smooth, tight toe. some use the figure 8 cast on–and like it as well (I haven’t tried that one).
good luck,

Hmm, toe up isn’t quite what I meant, I mean the socks that have little places for each toe. Like gloves for your feet, hehe. I wonder if I can find some to show… Ahh, here we go.

Spun magazine has a pattern for the ones that have a separate big toe (not all 5)…
That’ll be great to start, give me some practice.

Here’s a free “toe socks” pattern. You have to sign up for the free membership first, though.
Woohoo! Thanks so much

There is also a pattern for making toe socks in the "Twisted Sisters Sock Workbook"

I’m going to get this book from library, it looks good and the reviews online are good. I hope they get it soon (having to request it) crosses fingers
