Toe Decreases on KnitPicks Twirl Top Stockings

Hi, I’m finishing up my first Christmas stocking and am confused by the toe decreases. The sock is on three needles and the pattern has two decreases on Needle 2 and only one each on Needles 1 and 3. This means that now after several rows I only have four stitches left on Needle 2 and a lot more stitches left to decrease off on the other two needles before I get to 8 stitches total.

I can’t quite puzzle out how to (or whether to) rearrange the stitches to keep the decreases going evenly. Can anybody help?

Thanks,
Maryann

You can just slip stitches back and forth from needle to needle without actually working them in order to keep it comfortable for knitting in the round. Just make sure you know where your beginning of the round is, and as long as you have that, the other stitches can be in any arrangement on the needles.
