Toddler blanket yarn suggestions?

i’m looking for an inexpensive, soft, superwash wool that i can use to knit a blanket for my son. i just have no idea where i should look, what brands are best, and which i would get the most bang for my buck. knit picks? elann? cascade?
any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

I don’t know of any inexpensive superwash but Plymouth Encore is inexpensive and washes up good.

i’m a fan of Red Heart Super Saver for toddler and kid blankets since they’ll go from being on the bed, to the floor, to the “blankie”, then become a cape and require multiple washings.

Afghans i’ve made for my sons when they were babies lasted a good 6-7 years before getting any holes (and then it was where i had tied off the yarn, not in the middle!)

Well Knitpicks has a few if you want 100% wool.

I have no experience with them and I’ve heard they pill, but that happens with even the best wools.

There are other good ones that are blends.
