Today's "Today Show"

Did anyone see this this morning? Meredith said that knitting was old hat-not her exact words, but the meaning is the same. apparently sewing is the new rage. How many of us are tossing away our needles so we can be “IN?”

Sewing, schmewing. Bah. Not for me. Give me yarn! More yarn! Must knit! xxx

I started sewing when I was 10. I don’t care if I ever see the sewing machine again thankyouverymuch! Way too fiddly! :teehee:

i saw this too, and i was ticked! i hate that things have to be “in” to be considered worth our time!

Me too–what was that?? :teehee: Silly Meredith.

I hate hearing things like that too. Not dissing sewing, but you can’t lug your machine with ya like you can your yarn.
I just worry about what if the yarn store hear ever closed? It was here years before knitting took on it’s resurgence. I like to see things exist before the world knows about it and stick around when the world moves to the next big thing. :happydance:

Her exact words were “Knitting is sooooo five minutes ago!”

I was in the car on my way to work when I heard it and if it wouldn’t have made me go speeding into the car in front of me i would have :tap:

Oh good grief!!

She probably crochets. :teehee:

Somebody should write to her. The video is on the Today show site…
Why do people do that? Say things like “Breathing! It’s on the rise! Catch the breeze before it passes!”

we SHOULD write to her. Maybe we’ll get on TV!!!

Hey now! I knit and crochet! But I do think we shall all send emails or something to the Today Show, tell her we were knitting while watching her show, and that all the people who were sewing were NOT watching her show, but were staring down at their machines!!!

Well, it’s a good thing I was never one to follow the crowd.
:cheering: :cheering: :cheering: Hooray for knitting! :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:

We talked about that tonight at our SnB! How stupid. But we were all glad it’s out because maybe it will mean less fun fur on the shelves and more room in the LYS for people who don’t treat it like a passing phase!

I think it’s friggin’ hilarious~!!!
:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:
Like I am going to stop doing what I love just because everyone else and Meredith told me to do so~!!!
WHATEVER~!!! :cheering:  :cheering:

Here’s an idea for Meredith, and other’s who think they have to follow the fads. Why don’t you try thinking for yourself. It’s much more enjoyable than worrying what may or may not be “in”

The Today Show is sooo five minutes ago. People are still watching it?

I’m a little old fashioned anyway. My shoes still have laces instead of velcro. I don’t care if knitting is out of fashion, I enjoy it. Meredeth can have her sewing. I can buy a lot of yarn for what a sewing machine costs.

I love my knitting but I also like to sew quilts. So I enjoy both!! :cheering: :cheering: Knitting is much more portable!! :happydance:

I thank her! if all the preppy trend setters put down the yarn and notions there is more for us right!!! :happydance:

We know we are great who cares if anyone else does!

How did I miss that???

It seems to me there are more knitters than there use to be, especially teenage knitters.
