Toasty Warm Gloves Martingale

Hello all!

Any help is greatly appreciated. I’ve attached pictures of the pattern below. I’ve finished shaping the thumb gusset and started on the row shaping the thumb. I feel like something is missing? Or maybe I’m not seeing it in the pattern. My hangup currently,

K37 and turn
Cast on and P3 sts, P13 and turn.
{work 16 rows in these sts only for the thumb, ending with RS facing for the next row.}

Even on to shaping the first finger. Assuming that the parenthesis is instructions for the men’s gloves. Next Row 5 times? Thank you for taking the time out to read this and offer any advice.

Welcome to the forum!

After working the 16rows you begin shaping the top of the thumb with the decreases. Finally cut the yarn leaving about a 6-8" tail to thread through the remaining sts and fasten off. You can use the yarn tail to seam the thumb.
Then you’ll add rows to the hand before shaping the first finger. Is the thumb where you’re having a problem or is it the first finger?

Great thank you! Sorry about that. With the 37 stitches, am I supposed to bind off or continue with the next part?

Don’t bind off. Of the first 37 sts that you knit, 13 sts will be used for the thumb in addition to the 3 sts that you cast on (16sts in total for the thumb). Leave the remaining sts on the needle but ignore them. You could also put them on stitch holders or waste yarn if that seems easier.
You’ll get back to the remaining sts when you knit the rest of the hand and fingers.
