I’ve been looking for a specific Teal color of sock yarn for months now. The other day I found the perfect color. When I received it the yarn ended up being too thick for my cable patterned socks. Is it possible to unply the yarn or should I leave it and use it for something different, and keep looking for the perfect sock color.
What do you all think?
Thanks for the help!
You can split it, but it’s very time consuming.
My thought is if you un-ply, the individual plies may not be as strong and could pull apart as you knit…and that may make you :grrr:
Ewww I wouldn’t unply. Too much trouble for me, but I’m not that picky about color, plus I’m a little lazy!
Have you considered buying some Knit Picks Bare sock yarn and dying your own? It’s easy and you can get JUST what you want!
Thank you! I actually got some yarn from MissBabs.com that I’ve been meaning to dye, but I haven’t been able to get the right color. With my practice tries.
