I am making my first sweater out of a chunky cotton/rayon. The pattern does not call for blocking before putting it together and there are not any finished measurements for the pieces. I asume I do not block in this case. Am I right?
I think it’s always best to block. It will make seaming SO much easier!
I don’t block anything until it’s put together. If you like the way looks, then leave it as is. I haven’t done any cotton blocking, personally, but you could if you felt it needed it.
thank you for the replies. BTW, I went to the Irish Baby Knits site and the yarn is BEAUTIFUL! The colorways are amazing.

Once everything’s put together, if it looks the way you want it and it fits right, no need to bother with blocking.
