heres how the pattern reads…
Round 1: k3, PM, M1L, k1, M1R, knit to the end of the round.
Round 2&3: Knit
Round 4: Work the Increase round: Knit to stitch marker, slip marker, M1L, Knit to next marker, M1R, slip marker.
Work the increase round every third round, until you have 14 sts between stitch markers.
Using a tapestry needle, place these stitches onto a piece of waste yarn, thereby setting them aside to work later. Make a single backward loop CO in their place to span the gap over these sts., then join in the round to continue working the hand.
MY QUESTION:
Starting out with 3 stitches, doing paired increases, how do I wind up with 14 stitches?
The next direction states that i should have 40 stitches to continue the hand with after one CO stitch. I started out with 40. does that mean Im to increase to 13 stitches in the gussett and then the one cast on stitch is to go with the gussett?
