I am doing the Mikado Ribbon fingerless gloves. I got the pattern from this website. I just started knitting and to be honest, I am lost on how to do the thumb for this project. How do I make the hole, how do I get the thumb piece onto the main piece. I am lost!

A quick look at the pattern tells me that you knit down the arm, increasing toward the end for the thumb. Then you put the thumb stitches on an extra piece of yarn. After you finish the hand, you put the thumb stitches on double pointed needles and knit in the round.
